The Eyes Saw Me
The Eyes Saw Me
“The eyes saw me.”

Staring,
eyes steady in a beating pace,
each thought and feeling, just a daze,
a mere reflection upon its face,
giving no hint of the thoughts behind its gaze.

Tearing,
through my defenses,
it could now hold me down,
a simple rope wrapping my senses,
to face the voice I would never have found.

"You can't out run me,
I am all that you've tried to neglect,
You don’t really want to see,
And I will be the one to help you forget,"

Blinding,
searing my heart,
the voice would hold me down,
to relive the feelings my dreams cart,
And strangle the longings before their found .

"Fake don't you see?
I'm the only reality,
You can not escape me,
And I will show them all what you fear to be,"

Ripping,
through my veins,
it could keep me bound,
without the warmth to cover the pains,
or the hope I've never found.

And still these eyes bore into mine,
memories fleeing within just a space of time,
giving no help within the thickening line,
I am lost in it’s rhyme.
