well got no thing more to do but NOT FINISH MY STORYS
Canaan By Candice Williams “Somewhere I left my heart. I feel it waiting. For a chance, when I return. I am dead, am I not? For to be dead one most have A loss of feeling, and a chilled sense of reality. I have both so am I not of the living?”
Epilogue
Noah silently fumed with his feelings of rage as he looked upon his son. Praying without a sound Noah asked God to give punishment onto his son. In an answering wind Noah listened to words only he could hear "Cursed be Canaan; a slave of slaves shall he be to his brothers" For a second he pondered the words he heard from the wind. Drawing further judgment from his own thoughts. Ham looked at him in shock as Noah's voice broke the silence. "Cursed be Canaan; a slave of slaves shall he be to his brothers." He also said, "Blessed by the LORD my God be Shem; and let Canaan be his slave. God enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem; and let Canaan be his slave." And thus the legend of Canaan came to be, the infant would know only sorrow for many years then leading into death and an existence of servitude to mankind. Eventually, he repressed the memories of his existence and followed the orders without a reason. Centuries flashed by as he, being cursed was not dead and not alive either. Loneliness was his constant companion. Chapter 1
Damn, damn and double damn. Just when Achilles shows love towards that Prosaia girl ... HE got a bunch of arrows shot at him in the ankle. Flopping onto her side Lily sighed as an orange cat jumped up away from her movement and sulked over to the other side of the bed. Dying romantically… But still he's dead. She rolled her eyes and tried to focus on the page once again. Lily read a couple more words and moved the pillow in a more comfortable position under her head. With a sound of frustration she punched the pillow that refused to give her comfort. The orange cat meowed when her foot got to close to her resting spot. Lily turned to look at her cat Honey. 'I'd rather have seen them live happily ever after. I mean what good is love if you’re dead?' Lily closed her eyes and tried to quell the pain in her chest. The troubled heart feels pain. She sure was troubled. A boring life and the feeling like that was all there was going to be. She could feel the onslaught of tears beneath her eyelids. Why do I feel so damn much? It’s all pretend. Dreams are useless. A happily ever after exists only in the romance novels. Lily opened her eyes and looked at the book in her hand. Her heart gripped painfully as she made a vow. No more of this make believe. She just had her 23 birthday for heavens sake. Then the tears really did start to fall. God she was tired. Tired of living, tired of wishing, tired of hoping... and now she was even tired of dreaming. Life just doesn’t seem happy anymore. All the old feelings of depression that she had fought hard through her teen years swamped her. Lily closed her eyes and cried. No more… no more dreams. She stayed like that for hours. Holding her pain inside until she finally fell into a nightmare dwelling upon all the foolish dreams she dared not let anyone see. The first rays of light pierced through his skull as he ran across the land. It felt good to burn like this when he ran. It was the only thing left this physical pain that reminded him of humanity. All other feelings were lost to him. Canaan didn’t even remember the last time he felt anything else. He has lasted for centuries like this and there didn’t seem much use wondering what anything else felt like. Feelings he had never felt before were useless as were the memories of his past. He slowed to a jog. His stride hadn’t even broken a sweat even though he had just run 12 miles. Canaan felt the brush of the wind in his head and he stopped and looked around. He walked towards the gate. Then he felt the surge of evil in his head. Shit’ he turned around ready to run back to safety in his protected home where the evil taint wouldn’t penetrate the walls. When suddenly he felt the blessed silence. Odd that silence would be in his head… He usually felt only silence when he himself felt pain. Yet he didn’t feel like he was in pain. He looked back towards the gate and started to once again towards the spot he had felt the evil taint. A cry from a dove squawked over him and then the bird landed precariously perched on the gate. The white doves’ piercing blue eyes regarded him with ageless tilt of his head. In its mouth was a letter that it dropped on the ground. Canaan watched as the dove flapped its wings and flew away. Walking slowly towards the letter he couldn’t help but feel a shiver of dread. Orders had come. But this time the messenger was different somehow. He felt like something was off, but he couldn’t put his finger on what was bothering him. Picking up the letter he opened it and read. Slowly, in thought, he turned around and headed to his house. The name Lilain Treiar, in his thoughts, as he wondered about this latest assignment. Canaan was on his way to New Canaan Connecticut now. When will the orders ever end? Sighing, he shot a flame out of his hand to burn up the letter and began to plan. A ringing kept trying to wake Lilian. And she shot her hand out towards the alarm clock and opened one eye to see the time. Shit! She jumped up and started to grab her work bag and put her legs in a pair of her work pants when she heard the ringing of the phone. Lily was two hours late for work. Just when she had started to believe that she could really be responsible she had to over sleep again. Scooping up some kitty grub she put it in Honeys bowl and then splashed some water on her face from the sink she used for dishes. Lily grabbed her keys and bag and locked her tiny apartment. Looking at her pitiful junk car she prayed silently that the thing would start. Half an hour later of pleading the engine roared to life and she went to work. Lily signed in at The Silver Hospital where she had worked for over a month now as a lab tech and jogged the remaining floors to her lab. Her partner Mack cocked an eyebrow when she walked in. Then rolling his eyes he blessedly turned back to the papers he had been studying before she came in. Lily looked down and sighed as she settled down at her desk and looked at the new cases for the day. “I love the rain, the way it gracelessly falls from the trees To plop soundlessly on an unforgiving ground.
